Mary Lou Miller, 87, of Morton, formerly of Tremont, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024 at her home.
She was born September 2, 1936 in Pekin to George and Bernice Keefer Winters. She married Raymond E. Miller on March 19, 1961 in Pekin and he passed away April 16, 2016.
Surviving are her children, Brad (Michelle) Miller of Tremont and Melinda (Gene) Figge of Green Valley; six grandchildren, Bradley Miller, Ashley (Michael) Lindsey, Jacob Figge, Mary (Evan) Shytles, Drake (Jackie) Cottingham, and Kaleb (Nikki) Cottingham; two great grandchildren, Paxton and Rowin Cottingham; two brothers-in-law, Gary (Jean) Miller of Morton and Joe Albertsen of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Shirley Albertsen; one brother Merle “Pete” Winters.
After raising her children, Mary Lou attended Illinois State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in social work.
Mary Lou retired from working at the Peoria City Health Department.
She was a member of Tremont Baptist Church, where she played in the hand bell choir.
She was an avid reader.
Her funeral will be at 11:00 am Monday, April 29, 2024, at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. Pastor Noah Lee will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Tremont.
