Allen Kent Jennings, of Manito, passed away at 7:31 am Monday, December 23, 2024 at Carle Health Pekin Hospital.
He was born October 10, 1938, in Schenectady, NY, the son of Wesley and Olga Jennings. He married Barbara Ann Webster, on July 26,1958 in Schenectady and she passed away May 1, 2015. He later married Lottie Munter on October 28, 2017 in Manito, IL and she survives.
Also surviving are his four children from his marriage to Barbara, David W. (Jennifer) Jennings of Camby, Indiana, Carolynn J. (Gil) Diekhoff of Midlothian, Texas, Ellen N. Frazier (Larry Paquin) of Warren, MI, Corrie A. (Adam) Waters of Bloomington, Illinois. His stepchildren from his marriage to Lottie; Jerry (Sandra) Munter of Manito, Illinois, Jody (Mike) Neulinger of Manito, Illinois. He also leaves two brothers, Wesley (Julie) Jennings of Tupper Lake, NY and Robert (Donna Marie) Jennings of Holy Springs, North Carolina.
Grandchildren include, Brandon (Tina) Jennings, Kyle (Kirsten) Jennings, Cole (Allie) Diekhoff, Connor (Kelcy) Diekhoff, Nicholas Jennings, Gabrielle Diekhoff, Kaitlyn Jennings, Michael (Victoria) Frazier, Tyler Frazier, Riley Frazier, Lindsey Frazier, Ezekiel Waters, Ethne Waters, Sophie Jennings, Eydie Waters, Elora Waters, Emberly Waters, Amy (Lee) Gerrietts, Mark (Lexi) Munter, Keith (Chelsea) Munter, and Lori Nuelinger. He also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Barbara; and two grandchildren, Kirstie Ann Diekhoff and Kirk Allen Diekhoff.
Allen loved watching his grandchildren play their sports, was an avid fisherman, and loved watching Cardinals Baseball, Michigan Football, the Detroit Lions, as well as professional rodeos and western movies. He loved listening to old time gospel music, was very active in his church. His Swedish meatballs, lasagna and chocolate chip cookies were a family favorite!
His funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at St. John’s Sand Prairie Church in Green Valley. Pastor Chris Sansom will officiate. Visitation will be from 4- 7 pm Monday, December 30, 2024 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
