Ann M. Steiner, 77, of Tremont, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton, Illinois.
Ann was born on June 1, 1946, in Watseka, IL, the daughter of William and Marjorie Bauer Rinkenberger. She married Richard “Dick” Steiner on June 25, 1967, in Cissna Park, Illinois. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2020.
Surviving are two sons, Jeff (Jill) Steiner of Hancock, MN, and Dave (Sandy) Steiner of El Paso; two daughters, Ruth (Tim) Kaiser and Sarah Steiner, both of Tremont; two brothers, Ken (Devon) Rinkenberger of Morton, IL, and Bob (Sally) Rinkenberger of Fairbury, IL; two sisters, Kathy (Rich) Sutter of Atlanta, GA, and Karol (Tom) Stock of Cissna Park, IL; one sister-in-law, Velma Rinkenberger of Cissna Park, IL; nineteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Steve Rinkenberger.
Ann found her soul’s salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ in January 1965, was baptized on May 30, 1965, in Cissna Park, IL, and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Tremont.
Her faith was strengthened by an outpouring of love from many dear Sisters and Brothers in Faith throughout her years and she especially appreciated the care she received at Restmor. She was blessed with many friends there, both residents and staff, and was likewise a blessing to many with her encouraging words and time spent at the piano praising God with hymns. Her cheerful smile will be missed by all. Ann’s large collection of more than 100 birds in her room brought her and her visitors much joy; and, although she was happy spending time in her cozy room, she also was glad to be involved in many of the activities so lovingly provided by Restmor staff. She enjoyed much time making and faithfully sending cards and letters to her children and grandchildren for birthdays and other events and was always interested in her family’s lives. Christmas cards sent to her sisters last week were especially meaningful as she stated, “I’m feeling joy, peace, and love,” and “I’m doing better, especially spiritually, and that makes all the difference in the world.”
Her funeral will be at 10:00 am Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Apostolic Christian Church in Tremont. Ministers of the church will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont and from 9:00 to 9:45 am Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Tremont.
Memorials may be made to Apostolic Christian Restmor or Apostolic Christian Counseling & Family Services.
