Beth A. Sands

Beth A. Sands, 54, of Tremont passed away May 17, 2025 at her home.

She was born May 17, 1971 at Brokaw Hospital in Normal to Larry E. and Patsy E. Hasty VanDyke. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Lyle and Louis Hasty.

She is survived by one daughter, Kaila R. (Kody) Phillips of Canton; two grandchildren Case Magnuson and Bristol Phillips. 

She attended Deer Creek Mackinaw Grade School and DeeMack High School. 

Beth worked at Farm and Fleet in Morton from 1990-1993 and then four more years after her daughter was born.  She worked at Waugh Foods Inc. in East Peoria for four years and then at Caseys in Mackinaw from 2008-2018. 

She absolutely loved being called Nan Nee from her grandson Case.  He was her pride and joy and reason to live.  Nan Nee would always say “love you to the moon and back”.  

She loved being outdoors and enjoyed walking.

A private burial and celebration of her life will be at Mackinaw Township Cemetery in Mackinaw.  There will be no visitation.  Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.  

Memorials may be made to Leukemia foundation or American cancer society.
