Beverly McWhorter

Beverly A Fulton - McWhorter age 94 passed away Friday, August 11, 2023 at Paradise Point ALF, Ormond Beach, FL.  Beverly was born in Farmington, IL to Alvin and Nola Fulton on July 20, 1929. She was a graduate of Pekin High School class of 1947. Bev married Carl W McWhorter September 12, 1948 at the Delavan Methodist Church, Delavan, IL.  She is survived by daughter Patricia Horton of Ormond Beach, FL, son Robert (Leah) McWhorter of Jupiter, FL, grandchildren Brian (Basia) McWhorter, Jupiter, FL, Lisa Kurtz, Morton, IL, and Kevin (Brenna) McWhorter, Tequesta, FL, and 2 great grandchildren Elaina Kurtz and Everett McWhorter. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Nola Fulton, brothers Robert Fulton, Steven (Marge) Fulton, and sister Marilyn (Bruce) Esteppe.

Bev participated in many local organizations including the Delavan Methodist Church, Girl Scouts, Delavan Schools (room mother), and served as an election judge in both Delavan and Aurora, IL.  Bev shared her outstanding homemaking skills with family and friends by hosting delicious meals in her inviting homes.  She enjoyed drawing and painting in her spare time creating annual Christmas cards of painted birds.  Bev delighted in the music of the Big Bands and often danced until recently. She made many friends in both Illinois and Florida and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. 

The family wishes to thank Paradise Pointe Assisted Living Facility and Halifax Hospice for their outstanding care for Bev as though they were part of our family. 

In keeping with her wishes, a graveside service and burying of the ashes will be held in Delavan, IL this fall.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
