Carole J Pflederer

Carole J. Pflederer, 87, of Tremont, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Hopedale Nursing Home.

She was born February 12, 1938 in Pekin to Harold “Tuffie” and Wilma B. Junker Becker.  She married Dale Pflederer on February 1, 1958 in Tremont and he survives.

Also surviving are her children, Gene (Teri) Pflederer of East Peoria, Richard (Gail) Pflederer of Winfield, and Michael (Karen) Pflederer of Tremont; nine grandchildren, Nick Pflederer, Ryan (Janna) Pflederer, Megan (Matt) Born, Brent (Jessica) Pflederer, Sarah (Jacob) Hackbarth, Brittney (Steve) Arnold, Cody (Carlie) Canfield, Kai (Alecia) Pflederer, and Kaitlynn (Mason) Miller; and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Gene Becker; and one great granddaughter, Micah Hackbarth.

Carole graduated from Tremont High School in 1956.  After high school, she worked at WABCO for a time, then was a homemaker raising her three boys. She then worked at Pekin Savings Bank as an assistant supervisor for 25 years.  After retirement, she cared for her mother, Wilma, until her passing.

Carole was a lifelong resident of Tremont and a pillar in the community.  She was involved in the Tremont Women’s Club, Tremont Alumni Committee, and Carole and Dale were instrumental in starting the Tremont Turkey Festival and were chairmen of it in 1969 and 1970, and served in many other activities.

She was an active and faithful member of the Tremont Baptist Church her entire life, where she served as Deaconess, church finance committee, and played the piano.

Carole was active in a card ministry, sending cards to many family and friends for various occasions.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be at 10:00 am Monday, October 27, 2025 at Tremont Baptist Church.  Pastor Noah Lee will officiate.  Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
