Cecil C. Hammond Jr.

Cecil C. Hammond, Jr., 95, formerly of Delavan, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026 at the Lodge of Manito.

He was born January 13, 1931 in Trivoli to Cecil C. and Orva L. McMeen Hammond, Sr.

He first married Joanne Burns and later married Shirley Anderson on October 26, 1979 in Delavan and she passed away June 3, 2014.  He then married Joanne Scott on November 28, 2015 in Delavan and she passed away March 25, 2025.

Surviving are his children, Theresa Fields of Houston, TX, James (Kim) Hammond of Florida, and Kevin (Joe Harrison) Hammond of Decatur; and one stepdaughter, Terry (Rich Klein) Weiss of Manito; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one brother, Claire (Jeanette) Hammond of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Terry Hammond.

Cecil is a United States Veteran and was a member of the Delavan American Legion. He was also a member of the Delavan Masonic Lodge.

He retired from Caterpillar Inc. and enjoyed riding motorcycles and wood carving.

A visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 am Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan. A graveside service will be at 11:00 am Thursday at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
