Charles Neville

Charles “Rod” Neville, 79, of Hopedale,  passed away August 25, 2025 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. 

He was born May 19, 1946 to Charles E. and Dorothy Cameron Neville.  He married Patricia “Trish” H. Reilly on May 21, 1966, and she passed away August 9, 2008.

Surviving are two sons, Jon C. (Jan) Neville of Minier and Russ Neville of Hopedale;  two grandsons, Jacob C. Neville and Jon R. Neville, both of Minier; one brother, Ronnie (Jody) Neville  of Tremont; three sisters, Rosie (Mark Birkey) of Florida, Charleen (Jeff) Wagner of Utah and Cindy (Mark) Schwemlein of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Johnny and Randy.

Rod served in the United States Navy during Vietnam.

He worked at Caterpillar Inc., retiring after 30 years.

He loved riding motorcycles, listening to country music, and spending time in his garage.

His funeral will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  Pastor Paul Nolden will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:00 to 9:45 am Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
