Cheryl Draear Obituary

Cheryl Ann Draear, 64, of Tremont, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 in her home surrounded by her husband and kids.

She was born June 3, 1960 in Springfield, MO to Larry and Donneane “Dee” Drake. She married Douglas L. Draear on August 28, 1982 in Morton, and he survives.

Also surviving are her father, Larry (Carolyn) Drake of Florida; her children, Dustin (Whitney) Draear of Effingham, Vanessa (Trenton) Noreen of Tremont, and Matthew Draear of Groveland; five grandchildren, Savannah and Jordyn Draear, Adalynn, Caden, and Emersyn Noreen; and one brother, James Drake of Morton.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and one sister, Kathy Drake Rauhaus. 

Cheryl graduated from Tremont High School in 1978 and then earned her accounting degree from Taylor University. She then went on to become a CPA.

She served on staff at Tremont Baptist Church and then Summit Point Church.

Cheryl was a committed follower of Jesus Christ and enjoyed serving in the church, schools, and community. She loved playing the piano, singing, camping, waterskiing, and pretty much anything that involved her family. Cheryl was never one to shy away from trying something new, or going on a new adventure, as long as she was doing it with the people she loved.

Visitation will be from 2:30-4:30 pm on Sunday, March 23rd at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, March 24th at Tremont Baptist Church with visitation from 9:30-10:15 prior to the service. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a church of your choosing to support the mission of reaching people for Jesus Christ.
