He was born November 5, 1960 in Bloomington to Robert “Bob” and Betty L. Barrick Dietrich. He was raised on the family farm in Minier, which he always appreciated. He married Sharon Bond on August 18, 1984 in Mackinaw, and she survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Harold Bond.
Chris worked in fabrication for 40 years, last working at Parker Fabrication in Morton for the last 10 years.
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Minier, where he served on the church board. He was also a member of the Minier Masonic Lodge.
He enjoyed motorcycles, antique trucks and tractors and muscle cars. He collected Budweiser Christmas Steines, enjoyed listening to music, was a WWII history buff, loved the show “Supernatural”, had a love for dogs and football, especially the Chicago Bears. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
His funeral will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at St. John’s United Church of Christ Fellowship Hall. A visitation reception will be from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday, also at the church hall. Burial will be in Minier Cemetery. Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Minier is handling the arrangements.
