Clyde D. Lockenour, 83, of Mackinaw, passed away Monday, February 17, 2025, at OSF Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on May 25, 1941, in Mason City to Frank Wayne and Minnie Tisdale Lockenour. He married Regina “Jeannie” Winters in 1966 in Lincoln and she passed away December 28, 1991. He later married Judith Fauser on February 11, 1995, in Peoria.
Surviving are his three children with Jeannie; Frankie J. (Tracy) Lockenour, Brenda J. (Kenneth) Lynch, and Julie A. (Randy) Miller; six grandchildren, Brock (Sami), Kaylee (Nate), Brady, Bryce, Derek, and Jessica (Briar). His two stepchildren with Judith; Tony R. Segal and Cherie L. Urekar; six grandchildren, Florijan Jr. (Keri), John, Joshua, Russell (Dan), Kristina, and Felicia; seven great-grandchildren, Brantley, Aubrey, Lena, Lillyana, Bellamy, Erik, and Kayden; one brother, Delmar (Kathy) Lockenour.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Regina “Jeannie” and one sister Bonnie Vargo.
Clyde graduated from Mason City High School in 1959 then served in The United States Army.
He worked for Morton Metalcraft for 16 years and then at Carpenter and Handling for 18 years.
He was a member of Mackinaw Christian Church, the Masonic Lodge, American Legion Post, Early Ford V-8, Mended Hearts, and Young at Heart.
Clyde, also known as CD, Panther and Lockjaw, enjoyed being with his family most. They took many camping and fishing trips together, along with many trips to see family. Clyde considered himself a Winter Texan as he and Judy spent the last 20 years at Eastgate RV Park during the winter months. During the summer, Clyde and Judy would attend the Kentuckiana Country Oprea. He loved antique cars and showing off Judy's 1952 Mercury. He was always ready to play poker with the family and play his favorite hand, "seven card draw, roll your own". Clyde was a content man who loved wearing flannel shirts and a hat. To honor him this Saturday, please wear your favorite flannel shirt.
His funeral will be at 11:30 am, Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Mackinaw Christian Church. Pastor Judith Guy Thomas will officiate. Visitation will be 10-11:30 am prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery with military honors accorded. Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Mackinaw is handling the arrangements.
