David Calhoun

David W. Calhoun, 64, of Tremont, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026 at his home.

He was born September 20, 1961 in Bloomington to Warren and Helen Meador Calhoun.  He married Becky Winkler on May 16, 1986,  and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Jenni Fowler and Amber Eve; grandchildren, Chance Crank, Cayden Fowler, Camden Fowler; siblings, Steve (Sandy) Calhoun, Beverly Summers, Jean Schmidt, Pat Hart, Phil (Salle) Calhoun, Marcia Calhoun;  bonus siblings, Teri (Jeff) Mills, Barb (John) Pearson, Debbie (Rich) Hilgendorf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Alice Gentry; and bonus parents, Donald and Donna Schaefer.

He was in the United States Army Reserves from 1978 to 1986.

David received his master’s degree from Bradley University.  He worked in insurance for 15 years and owned and operated Let It Shine LLC car wash in Pekin.

His funeral will be at 10:00 am Friday, May 8, 2026 at New Castle Bible Church in Mackinaw.  Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, also at the church and one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in New Castle Bible Church Cemetery in Mackinaw.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
