David Martin Obituary

David R. Martin, 70, of Delavan, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022 at his home. 

He was born August 29, 1951 in Pekin to Lloyd E. and L. Lucille Tompkins Martin.  He married Deloris Williams, and she survives. 

Also surviving are one son, Aaron (Amber) Martin of Delavan; one daughter, April (Marc) Vonderheide of Delavan; two stepsons, Richard (Amelia) Guile of Manito and Michael (Jessica) Calhoun of Colorado Springs, CO; one stepdaughter, Erica (Trent) Strunk of Morton; 14 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Karen) Martin of Washburn. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Blake Anderson; and one sister, Beverly Rush. 

Dave worked at ADM as maintenance supervisor for many years and retired from Keystone Steele and Wire  Company in 2011. 

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and attended Prairie Bible Church in Delavan. 

He enjoyed woodworking, where he made bowls and lamps, fishing, camping, and hunting. 

His funeral will be at 11:00 am Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan.  Pastor Dan Larimore will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.  Cremation will be accorded following the service.  Burial will be in Mennonite Cemetery at a later date. 

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
