Dawn McConnell

Dawn Renee’ McConnell, 65, of Delavan, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. 

She was born January 18, 1956 in Pekin to William and Velma Lichtenberger Heaton. She married Mark McConnell June 18, 1977 in Delavan and he survives. 

Also surviving are one daughter, Kathlyn McConnell of Aurora, CO; one sister, Joy Heaton of Delavan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Danin Heaton. 

Dawn was a homemaker. 

She was a Silver Sneakers Instructor at the YWCA in Pekin. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Delavan, Job’s Daughters in Pekin, and Order of Eastern Star in Tremont. 

She enjoyed reading, whale watching, spending time with her dog and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. 

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial mass will be at 11:00 am Thursday, August 5, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Delavan. Msgr. Timothy Nolan will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:45 am Thursday at the church.
