Dean Hasty

Dean M. Hasty, 85, of Mackinaw, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Hopedale Hospital. 

He was born April 11, 1937 in Mackinaw to David and Doris Jefferson Hasty. He married Jane M. Liscom on June 1, 1958 in Mackinaw, and she passed away June 4, 2015. 

Surviving are one son, Kirk (Julie Schmidgall) Hasty of Mackinaw; one daughter-in-law, Michelle Hasty Maas of Mackinaw; four grandchildren, Tyler Hasty of Mackinaw, Tiffany Wilson of Mackinaw, Paige Yeomans of Odum, GA, and Carson Hasty of Mackinaw; six great grandchildren; and  one brother, Don (Ann) Hasty from the state of Washington. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Todd Hasty. 

Dean and his wife owned and operated Hasty Carpet Service in Mackinaw for over 40 years. 

He served in the United States Marines. 

He was a member of the Mackinaw Christian Church, Mackinaw Lion’s Club, Mackinaw Masonic Lodge 132 AF & AM, Valley of Peoria Scottish Rite, and Heart of Illinois Shriners. 

Dean loved to play cards and snowmobiling. 

His funeral will be at 10:00 am Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Mackinaw Christian Church. Pastor Judith Thomas will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday, followed by a Masonic service at 7:00 pm, both at the church. Burial will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery.  Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Mackinaw is handling the arrangements.
