Obituary

  Dixie Lee Phillips of Bloomington passed away on December 17th at St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington. A private family service will be held at a later date. Brent Salm, Pastor of College Park Christian Church will officiate. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alva and Lillie Brey of Hopedale. She is survived by her husband Ben, whom she married on November 11, 1961, one daughter, DyAnne (Michael) of Bellevue, Washington, a sister, Jeri Richardson, four nieces, and one nephew. Dixie was active in the community and a member of many local organizations. She was a member of College Park Christian Church. She experienced health problems for many years and handled them and her final passing with grace and a positive attitude. She was a friend to all who knew her and will be missed by many. She would like to thank the wonderful people of College Park, especially Pastor Salm, for their encouragement. She would also like to thank the caring staff of St. Joseph Hospital and Barns Hospital in St. Louis. A special thanks to her family and all her many friends for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to College Park Christian Church, 116 N Cottage Avenue, Normal, IL 61761.
