Donald R. Blair, 92, of Washington, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
He was born September 10, 1933 in Bloomington to William B. and Lillian C. Sparks Blair. He married Mary Lee Garmers in 1954 and she passed away December 1, 2024.
Surviving are his children, Mark Blair of McCormick, SC, Jamie (Art) Schlappi of Waynesboro, VA, Becky (Jim) Kelly of East Peoria, and Jill Snyder of Mackinaw; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and one brother, Wayne Blair.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, Tim Snyder; one grandson, Ryan Snyder; two brothers; and four sisters.
In the 1960’s, Don operated the Quality Café in Mackinaw then worked in the insurance industry for 30 years, retiring from Prudential.
Don and Mary were active members of the Mackinaw Christian Church and attended many of their children’s school functions. He was a loving father and grandfather.
He was also a member of the Mackinaw Lion’s Club and served on the town board. He enjoyed golfing, gardening and hostas, and working with model trains.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 am Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Mackinaw. Pastor Steve Rowell will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery at a later date.
