Donald W. Pickett

Donald Pickett, 85, of Washington, IL. passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born on June 26, 1938 in Muscatine, Iowa to Rollie and Ollie (Long) Pickett. Donald married Sandra Asquine on June 26, 1965 in Davenport, Iowa. She precedes him in death on Feb. 18, 2012. Also preceding him was his brother, Marvin Kane and sister, Laura Mae Holst.

Donald is survived by two sons; Michael Schafer, and Donald (Lorraine) Pickett II, two daughters; Shawn (Keith) Reber, and Shelly Pickett. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Kasandra Hartnett, C.J. Atchley, Victoria Bloom, Marissa Reber, Thomas Rosa, Michael Schafer, Jr. and 7 great-grandchildren. Along with his brother Thomas Pickett, Sr. and sister, Melodie Boyjisky.

Donald loved to go dancing to country music. He also was an avid bowler and was always in a local league. While he wasn’t moving his feet, he enjoyed watching NASCAR.

He worked for Nabisco in Rock Island and in Peoria, where he retired from.

There will be a funeral service for Donald on Friday, April 12, 2024, starting at 12:30pm at Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont, IL. Visitation will be an hour and a half prior, beginning at 11am. Rev. Howard Love will be officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the family to help pay for services.
