Donna Armstrong went to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 12:50 a.m., peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 7, 1939 in Normal to Clifford and Ferne Wick (Yeakle).
Donna was married to Jim Armstrong for 69 wonderful years. They were wed on April 14, 1956, in Bowling Green, Missouri. Jim preceded her in death on October 16, 2020. Together they raised three children: Richard Armstrong of Townsend, Tennessee; Vickie Glenn (Dan) of Danvers; and Randy Armstrong (Tammy) of Danvers.
Donna was a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Jeremy Glenn (Megan) of Bloomington, Amanda Glenn of Danvers, Brittany Armstrong (James Senkiw) of Danvers, and Matthew Glenn (Ana) of Pearland, Texas. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren.
A devoted mother and homemaker, Donna had a passion for cooking and preserving food, filling her freezer and pantry with homemade treasures. Her children fondly remember sneaking her frozen cookies whenever they could. She loved to knit, and her handmade dishcloths became a cherished holiday tradition—beautiful, practical gifts she shared with family and friends each Christmas.
More than anything, Donna loved spending time with her family, whether traveling to cheer on grandchildren at ball games, taking trips to Tennessee and Florida, or embarking on special adventures with her daughter and other loved ones. Her greatest joy was making memories together.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Danvers Mennonite Church in Donna’s memory.
A graveside and interment will take place at Parklawn Cemetery on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a meal at North Danvers Mennonite Church. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held later this year. Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Mackinaw is handling the arrangements.
She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love of family.
