Obituary
Doris E. Frederick, 95, of Hopedale, formerly of Tremont, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 9:20 pm at Hopedale Nursing Home.
She was born August 16, 1928 in Peoria to Percy and Pearl Plotner Byrd. She married Charles W. Frederick on February 16, 1946 in Peoria, and he passed away in 2013.
Surviving are three sons, Danny (Vickie) Frederick, Carl (Tammy) Frederick, both of Tremont, and Jimmy Frederick of East Peoria; five daughters, Janice (Larry) Turner of San Jose, Betty (Bobby) Cashion of Jackson, TN, Ricky Lawson of Morton, Connie (Dean) Creson of Pekin, and Linda (Lloyd) Jones of Etowah, TN; 20 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother, Terry (Barb) Byrd of Pekin; four sisters, Delores Byrd, Donna Wilcoxen, and Barb (John) Crumb, all of Canton, and Lois Leal of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Murrell and infant Lori Lee Frederick; two brothers, Robert and Larry Byrd; and two sisters, Ruth Scott and Norma Baxter.
Doris was a homemaker. She enjoyed her family, rocking on the front porch and spending time with the 1924 Model T that she and Charles restored.
Cremation has been accorded. A private burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
