Doris Hayden Fahnders

Doris Hayden Fahnders, 94, of Hopedale, formerly of Pekin and Delavan, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Hopedale Nursing Home. 

She was born November 30, 1926 in Dillon Township, rural Delavan, to Edward and Elsie Van Buskirk Hayden.  She married Mike Fahnders in 1951 in Delavan. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister. 

Doris worked as a telephone operator in Delavan for 7 ½ years and served as an auction clerk for Fahnder’s Auction in rural Pekin for over 50 years. 

She was of the Methodist faith. 

A grave side service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.  Pastor Charles Graul will officiate.  There will be no visitation.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements. 

She has requested that donations in lieu of flowers be made to TAPS in Pekin to honor her two big black farm dogs, Buck and Charlie or to Delavan United Methodist Church. 

Doris never said goodbye, it was always Too da Loo. She will be missed by all who knew her.
