Dorothy Louise White

Dorothy Louise White, 99, of Mackinaw, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Hopedale Nursing Home in Hopedale, IL.

Born September 9, 1926, in Peoria, Illinois, a daughter of Henry Payson and Ida M. Denhart Merriman, she married Howard L. “Monk” White, October 5, 1947 in Mackinaw.  He preceded her in death on May 3, 2010 in Hopedale.

Also preceding her in death was a son, Robert White.

Surviving are one daughter, Janet (Donald) Jordan of Riverview, Fl, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren and one daughter-in-law, Susan Nelson of Mackinaw.

Dorothy graduated from Lincoln College with a degree in bookkeeping and was the bookkeeper for the family farm.

She enjoyed working with crafts.

She was baptized at the Mackinaw Christian Church and was a member of the Mackinaw United Methodist Church.

Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2026 at the Mackinaw Township Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.
