Douglas L Bennett

Douglas L. Bennett, 62, of Morton, formerly of Deer Creek, passed away January 22, 2025 at his home.

He was born September 12, 1962 in Bloomington to Daniel and Shirley Weindel Bennett. He married Shelly Staker in September of 1999.

Surviving are his father and stepmother, Daniel and Diane Bennett of Minier; one brother, Gary (Betty) Bennett of Jacksonville, FL; and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Donald  L. Bennett

He graduated from Deer Creek Mackinaw High School in 1980.

Douglas worked as an auto mechanic at various places in the area and appreciated the many friendships throughout his life. 

A private graveside service will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Deer Creek American Legion.
