Duane Litwiller Obituary

Duane C. "Lit" Litwiller, 89, of Hopedale, formerly of Delavan, passed away at 6:57 pm Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Hopedale Nursing Home.

He was born April 26, 1931 in Hopedale to Emery and Florence E. Nolder Litwiller. He married Betty Cook on August 23, 1980 in Delavan and she passed away on September 16, 1999.

Surviving are two daughters, Dana Gordon of Delavan and Rhonda Litwiller Boles of Chandler, AZ; three grandchildren, Brett (Lindsay) Gordon of Groveland, Kendra (Jeremy) Neuhaus of Bloomington and Shawna Walsh of Bloomington; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Carolee (James) Kirkpatrick Whisler of Delavan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Lori Walsh.

He worked at RA Cullinan and Sons in Tremont for 39 years retiring in 1996.

Duane served in the United States Army from 1955-1957.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Delavan and Labor’s Union #261 in Pekin.

He loved to watch western movies, NASCAR and loved his donkeys, mules, horses and working outdoors. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Duke College Basketball.

A private family graveside will be on Thursday at Mennonite Cemetery in Hopedale. Pastor Robert Nafziger will officiate. There will be no visitation. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Hopedale Medical Foundation.
