Dylan Jacob Lundy, 20, of Peoria, left this life and his many struggles behind, as he ran into the arms of Jesus on January 2, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Dylan was born January 15, 2004 in Mattoon and placed in the loving arms of his parents, Rex R. and Jamie S. Hoerr-Lundy at four days old.
Rex and Jamie, along with his six siblings, greatly cherished and loved him every day of his life. The love he gave in return was like no other, adding joy and happiness to everyone that knew him. Dylan enjoyed playing with his large collection of beads, watching movies and dancing, but when he was struggling the hardest, he found great comfort in music. He rarely complained, no matter what challenges he was facing at the moment. He wanted to know how you were, and whether you asked or not, he would add, “I’m good.”
Our tears of grief are mixed with tears of joy that his suffering is over. In recent days, he begged for Heaven, to be with Jesus. God heard and answered his prayer.
Surviving are his father, Rex R. Lundy of Maricopa, AZ; his mother, Jamie S. Hoerr-Lundy of Peoria; his siblings, Erin (Darren) Christian of Peoria, Shana (Daniel) Addis of East Peoria, Abbe (Allen) Flower of Copperas Cove, TX, Steven Zimmerman of St. Louis, MO, Ali (Aaron) Jone of East Peoria, and Wyatt Frautschi of Riverton, UT; maternal grandparents, Ken and Darlene Hoerr of Peoria; paternal grandparents, Roland and Joann Lundy of Pekin; and several aunts and uncles, Scott (Dana) Hoerr of Edwards, Matt Moser of Morton, Bethanie (JD) Whitaker of Pekin, and Craig (Kelley) Lundy of Cape Coral, FL; and many cousins.
Dylan found great joy in playing with his seven nieces and five nephews, who were so important to him.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Aimee Moser. Dylan and Aimee had a very special bond, and it gives the family great joy and peace knowing that she was waiting for him and they are now reunited in Heaven.
His funeral will be at 2:30 pm Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. Craig Stickling, a friend of the family, will officiate and the final prayer will be by Ken Hoerr, Dylan’s grandfather. Visitation will be from 12:30 -2:15 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Tremont.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the family to help with the extensive medical expenses.
