Earlene Schroeder

Earlene  J. Schroeder, 77, of Delavan, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at her home.

She was born July 14, 1946 in Mattoon to Roy and Letha Beals Hidlebaugh.  She married Greg K. Schroeder on November 9, 1968 in Champaign and he passed away August 3, 2021.

Surviving are two sons, Andy (Jill) Schroeder of Canton and Matt (Liz) Schroeder of Alexandria, VA; four grandchildren, Clay, Sage, Reese, and Evan Schroeder.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Earlene was a special education teacher at Delavan High School.

She was a member of Delavan United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school, helped with vacation Bible school, and was a member of its United Methodist Women.

She was an avid reader, was an amazing cook, loved to bake, and was a meticulous housekeeper. She and Greg loved to travel, with Hawaii being one of their highlights.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Delavan United Methodist Church.  Pastor Charlie Graul will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday, also at the church.  Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Delavan High School or Delavan United Methodist Church.
