Elaine M. Stuber

Elaine M. Stuber, 83, of Tremont, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

She was born on February 13, 1942, in Peoria to Donald and Alice (Lancaster) Oexle. On June 4, 1960, she married the love of her life, Curtis “Curt” Stuber, in Morton. Curt preceded her in death on October 13, 2012.

Surviving are two sons, Marty (Rose) Stuber of Huntsville, TX, and Chris (Shari) Stuber of Goodfield; one granddaughter, Corinne (Michael) Stuber-Lopez of Chicago; and one great-grandson, August Christopher Lopez.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Chip.

She was a longtime member of Tremont United Methodist Church and the Pekin Moose Lodge.

Elaine loved to dance and play cards, but her passion was camping and boating with friends.

Elaine was a self-employed beautician whose kindness touched every client. Her gift of friendship was as lasting as the beauty she provided.

Cremation has been accorded. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 1pm-3pm, at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 4, 2025 at 11am. Pastor Paul Nolden will officiate. Private burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Apostolic Christian Restmor, Evergreen Village, 1500 Parkside Ave, Morton, IL 61550. The dedicated staff deeply cared for Elaine and loved her ever-present smile.
