Eleanor Deane Short, 88, of Havana, IL died on Saturday, December 19th, 2020 at Liberty Village Manor Nursing home in Peoria.
She was born on September 20, 1932 in Virginia, IL. She was the daughter of the late Pauline and Ernie Perry. On September 26, 1949 she married William (Bill) Short.
Surviving are her sister LouAnn Woodburn and her husband Billy of Mackinaw, two daughters, Dee (Short) Bockler and her husband Bob of Bartonville, and Sheri (Short) Perez and her husband Mike of Dahinda, six grandchildren and one great grandson.
Deane was preceded in death by her husband Bill and her sister Sandra Mae Johnson.
Deane was a loving wife, mother and friend who always had a smile on her face and a twinkle in her blue eyes. Deane owned a successful clothing store, DeSher’s in Washburn, IL and for many years served as the Native American specialist for the Sun Foundation.
After moving to Havana, Deane was very active in community services, namely Mason District Hospital auxiliary and the Riverside Club Renovation and Restoration Board.
Deane was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Havana. Services at this time will be limited to a private graveside service for the family. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
