Elwyn “Skip” Earl Stuber, 96, of Tremont, passed away peacefully at his home at 12:23 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
He was born October 15, 1928 to Elmer and Lillian (Pflederer) Stuber in their home south of Tremont. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert “Bob” Stuber; his brothers, Dwayne Stuber and Kenneth Stuber; his sister, Lois (Stuber) Lucas; and two grandsons, Daniel and David Edwards.
He married Phyllis (Bolliger) Stuber, also of Tremont in 1950. They both graduated from Tremont High School in 1946.
Surviving are his wife Phyllis, his children, Vicki (Rich) Schurter, Margie (Kurt) Christenson and Cathy (Vince) Edwards. Also surviving are grandsons: Paul and Michael Schurter; James, Jonathan, and Peter Christenson; Joshua Edwards; granddaughter Jeanette Edwards; 5 great-grand daughters and 7 great-grandsons.
Skip was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Company for 43 years.
The visitation will be Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 9:30-10:45 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Northfield Christian Fellowship, 411 W. North St., Tremont, IL 61568
