Frances M. Anderson

Frances M. Anderson, 72, of Pekin, passed away Monday, September 25, 2023 at her home after a brief battle with cancer.

She was born September 19, 1951 in Delavan to Francis “Butch” and Erschel L. Miller Godby.  She first married David Weeks and together they had a daughter. She married Gordon Anderson on February 26, 2000, though they spent 40 years together.

She is survived by her husband, Gordon; daughter, Sherena (Glenn) Smith of Tremont; two grandchildren, David and Delaney Smith; one sister, Debby (Glenn) Lauritzen of Peoria; two brothers-in-law, Gurney St. Clair of Morton and Myrl St. Clair of Louisville, KY; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Sue Knapp.

Fran managed the administrative services department at Pekin Insurance for 42 years, retiring in 2012. She was a member of the Pekin Insurance 25-year club and Yesterday’s Employees of Pekin Insurance (YEPI’s).

She loved to travel, fish, read, spend time at the cabin, and visiting with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.  She was an avid Cubs fan.

Her funeral will be at 10:00 am Monday, October 2, 2023 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  Pastor Eric Swanson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Sunday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Dillon Cemetery, rural Tremont.
