Frances “Fran” I. Hardy, 84, of Delavan, passed away Friday, July 30, 2021 at Washington Senior Living in Washington.
She was born August 14, 1936 in Easton to Charles and Esther Root Waterworth. She married James S. Hardy on June 6, 1953 in Havana, and he passed away March 27, 2011.
Surviving are two daughters, Theresa “Terri” Mount of Washington and Beverly “Bev” (Bob) Denning-Roth of Pekin; two grandchildren, Amanda Andersen of UT and Benjamin (Claudia) Denning of Lockport; granddaughter-in-love, Melissa Mount of Morton; seven great grandchildren, Alyssa (Kaden) Hepner, Rebecca Mount, Destiny Denning, Isabella McCaffrey, Kamryn Mount, Madison Denning, and Gabriel Mount; and two great great grandchildren, Cyrus and Scarlett; one sister, Barbara “Tyke” (Lou) Curry of Maroa; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her pet cat, Tigger.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, William “Bill” Mount; one sister, Joyce “Tobe” Snyder; and many beloved pets.
Fran was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, baking, and loved animals.
She very recently accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior with a dear friend, Alvin Duane Roach. She was a life-long member of TOPS in Delavan, where she served as treasurer for many years.
Her funeral will be at 4:00 pm Friday, August 6, 2021 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:45 pm Friday, also at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the services. Burial will be in Oakford Cemetery in Oakford at a later date.
