Gerald Worden

Gerald “Jerry” L. Worden, 84, of Mackinaw, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital.

He was born May 23, 1940 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Robert and Pauline Day Worden.  He married Donna Cox on May 22, 1983 in Peoria, and she passed away September 7, 2006.

Surviving are his children, Christine Worden of Kewanee, Dawn (Wes) Stott of Port Charlotte, FL, Mark (Tammy) Bartholomew of Chillicothe, Melinda (Scott) Fisher of Pea Ridge, AR, Michelle (Charles) Graves of Dripping Springs, TX, and Scott (Steffany) Bartholomew of Pea Ridge, AR; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one half-sister, Vel Boyd of Hemet, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Craig Worden; one daughter, Debbie Richardson; one half-sister, Cathy; and his beloved dog, Buttons.

Jerry was a journeymen electrician for Farlow Electric in East Moline most of his working career. He then owned and operated J & D Trailer Sales in Tremont for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, camping, and spending time at the Tremont and Deer Creek American Legions participating in the turkey shoots.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be at 12:00 pm Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  There will be no visitation.  Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to the Deer Creek American Legion.
