Gerald “Gerry” D. Eisenberger, 92, of Normal, formerly of Minier, passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 at Sugar Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Normal.
He was born March 28, 1932 in Normal to Velde and Flora Boyle Eisenberger. He married Josephine Price on October 9, 1953 in Windsor, CA, and she passed away December 10, 2017.
Surviving are two daughters, Teresa (David) Rapp of Normal and Beth Ellis of Minier; five grandchildren, Amanda (Jeffrey) Goetz, Aaron (Laura) Rapp, Jacob Rapp, Garrett Ellis, and Mitchell Ellis; and one great granddaughter, Avery Goetz.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Gerry attended Mackinaw and Minier schools, graduating in 1950. He then served his country in the United States Air Force.
He worked at Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1992. After retirement, he worked at RFD Cleaning in Minier and helped relatives and friends with farm work.
He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Minier and the Minier American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, and attending country music shows. Gerry and Josephine were very dedicated to their family.
His funeral will be at 11:00 am Thursday, October 3, 2024 at St. John’s United Church of Christ. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Minier Cemetery. Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Minier is handling the arrangements.
