Glenn Arnold Obituary

Glenn A. Arnold, 82, of Delavan, passed away peacefully at 12:25 am Saturday, October 31, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born December 24, 1937in rural Emden to William Frederick and Lena Hilgendorf Arnold.  He married Judith Logan on December 22, 1973 in Emden, and she survives.

Also surviving are four children, Richard (Curta) Arnold of Delavan, Mark (Cheryl) Arnold of Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Corrie (Steve) Gill of San Antonio, TX, and Melanie Arnold of Delavan; eight grandchildren, Bryan Arnold of San Jose, Megan (Max) Hernandez of San Antonia, TX, Daniel Arnold of Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Fallon Arnold of Delavan, Breidyn Gill of San Antonio, TX, Logan Arnold of San Jose, Keghan Gill of San Antonio, TX, and Steven Gill of San Antonio, TX; 10 great grandchildren;  one sister, Lois Vaughn of Delavan; and his four legged companion, Brindle.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter, Anna Arnold; one great grandson, Nathan Arnold; three brothers, Leslie, Richard, and Donnie Arnold; and one sister, Lucille Mammen.

He served in the United States National Guard.

Glenn was a life-long farmer in the San Jose area and worked at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria for 31 years.  After retiring from Caterpillar, he farmed for Duane “Bull” Eeten for 15 years.

His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Cremation has been accorded.  A celebration of life for family and friends will be from 2 to 5 pm Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at the Farmhouse Banquet Center in Delavan.  There will be no visitation.  Burial will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery at a later date. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
