H. William “Bill” Briggs, 87, of Emden, passed away Tuesday February 25, 2025 at his home.
He was born December 31, 1937 to Homer and Mildred Sieh Briggs. He married Norma Jean Hilst on June 28, 1960 in Emden, and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2021.
Surviving are three sons; Greg (Lori) Briggs of Manito, Neil (Deb) Briggs of Erie, PA, and Mark (Nicole) Briggs of Emden; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary (Bev) Briggs of Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Troy Clark.
He served in the United States Army Reserves
Bill was a mechanic at Roland Rich Ford in Delavan for over 40 years and after which he spent much time with his grandchildren and their school activities.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Emden.
He enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycles and camping.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 1-3 pm at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Emden. A family graveside service will be at Hartsburg Union Cemetery in Hartsburg at a later date. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Emden Rescue or Charity of donor’s choice.
