Harold "Tub" Risinger

Harold “Tub” E. Risinger, 83, of Tremont passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 at Hopedale Nursing Home. 

He was born June 12, 1941 in Pekin to Milton “Bud” and Evelyn Anderson Risinger.  He married Sandra Finch on September 7, 1962 in Tremont, and she passed away May 10, 2018. 

Surviving are two sons, Royce (Sharon) Risinger of Tremont and Ryan (fiancé Paula Rittenberg) Risinger of Mattoon; one son-in-law, Jeff (Missy Barnette) Payne of Morton; five grandchildren, Donald Davis IV, Tyler (Danielle) Risinger, Sydney (DJ) Gilmer, Avery Risinger, and Tinley Risinger; three great grandchildren, Tylynn, Royce, and Lexi; four siblings, Helen Lusher of Clarkdale, AZ, David (Suzanne) Risinger of Groveland, Lois Herman of Peoria, and Steve (Debra) Risinger of Hopedale; and two sisters-in-law, Sharin Risinger and Ann Risinger, both of Tremont. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Renee Payne; two brothers, Charles “Chuck” and Bobby Risinger; and two brothers-in-law, Alan Herman and Harlan Lusher. 

Tub worked at Bemis Bag Company as shift manager and foreman for 30 years.  He also owned and operated Kip & Tubs in Tremont. 

He was a lifelong member of Tremont Baptist Church and Tremont Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed vacationing in Florida, doing yardwork, golfing, fishing, and coaching little league ball. 

His funeral will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont.  Pastor Noah Lee will officiate.  A Masonic service will be at 4:30 pm Tuesday, followed by a visitation from 5 to 7 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
