Harry Coates

Harry M. Coates, 71, of Pekin, formerly of Delavan, passed away at 9:00 pm Wednesday, September 30. 2020 at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria.

He was born September 14, 1949 in Sparta, IL to Howard and Imogene Gill Coates Sr.

Surviving are his daughter, Trisha Collins of Tremont; former wife, Yvonne Burch of Florida; one step daughter, Dawn (Dion) Egli of Tremont; one step son, Kendall (Kerry) Martin, of Tremont; one sister, Marjorie Siscoe of Delavan; one nephew, Rodney Siscoe of Colorado; two grandchildren, Kainan and Eryka Collins and five step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Howard Coates Jr. ;one sister, Jocille Siscoe and one nephew, Clifford Siscoe.

Harry retired from caterpillar after working as a machinist.

He served in the United States Army National Guard and received honorable discharge.

Harry loved his family, friends, and adored his pug dogs, Pugsley and Pepper. He enjoyed cheering for the Chicago Cubs and watching westerns.

A graveside service will be at 3:00 pm Monday, October 5, 2020 at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan. Pastor Dave Craig will officiate. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
