Helen Joy (Barrick) Maas, 87, of Pekin, formerly of East Peoria, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin.
She was born November 19, 1933 in Eldorado to Harry L. and Lorraine Faye Dillback Wallace Sr. She married James C. Barrick on May 11, 1951. She later married Simon C. Maas in 1975. They both preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce L. (Rev. Terry) Krouskoupf of Manteno and Janet (Clark) Schweigert of Tremont; three grandchildren, Katrina Schurter of Chillicothe, Andrea Maddox-Dowling of Florence, SC, and Ashley (Tom) Jones of Pekin; two great grandchildren, Aidan Dowling and Finley Jones.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Harry L. Wallace Jr., Richard Wallace, Donald Wallace, and Bob Wallace.
Helen was a licensed practical nurse working at Proctor Hospital in Peoria and St. Joseph Homes in West Peoria.
She was a member at the Glendale Church in East Peoria.
She enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
A private graveside service will be at Fondulac Township Cemetery in East Peoria. Rev. Terry Krouskoupf will officiate. There will be no visitation. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to TAPS in Pekin or TLC Fosters in Mackinaw.
