Obituary

Homer H. Hilpert Jr., 81, of Stanford, passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 at Hopedale Hospital. 

He was born August 10, 1941 to Homer H. and Estel Pittinger Hilpert Sr.

He married Carole Demling in December 1976 in Bloomington, and she survives. 

Also surviving are his children, Beverly Neville of Mackinaw, Barb Gordon of McLean, Jodi O’Hara and Julie Wetmore, both of Lincoln; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and his loving companion, Buck. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Wayne. 

Homer worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 34 years and farmed in the Stanford area. 

He served in the National Guard from 1962 to 1968. 

He was a member of Stanford Sportsman’s Club and enjoyed fishing, stock car racing, and auctions and farm sales. 

His funeral will be at 11:00 am Thursday,  December 22, 2022 at Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Minier.  Pastor Candi Evans will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:45 am Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Minier Cemetery in Minier.
