Imogene Asbill, 98, of Normal, passed away at 3:45 p.m. on June 16, 2026 in Normal.
Imogene was born August 2, 1927 in Toledo, Illinois and grew up in Delavan. She was the daughter of Walter and Alma (Rosecrans) Darling. She married Ronald Asbill in 1953.
She is survived by her son, Curtis Asbill, of Bloomington, her daughter, Jean Ann (Michael) Dargatz, of Normal, grandson, Robby (Emma) Dargatz, of Belleville, Wisconsin and brother David Darling, of Delavan.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald, two sisters, Wandalee Whittaker and Mary Nelson, and two brothers, Marshall Darling and JT Darling.
She was employed at the Minier Post Office for many years, serving as postmaster from 1983 through 1989.
She enjoyed cooking, traveling, fishing at Minier Lake, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of the Arc at Normal.
A memorial service will take place at the Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Minier on Monday, June 22 at 10 a.m. with remarks beginning at 10:30.
Memorials may be made to the Minier Park District, H. A. Peine District Library or Minier Christian Church.
