JW Williamson

JW Williamson, 93, of San Jose, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

He was born June 7, 1931 to Jess and Florence Williamson in Rector, Arkansas. 

JW was one of sixteen children that led him into a life of hard yet fulfilling work. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force, in which he shared stories of being a medic and cook.

JW met the love of his life Phyllis Fries as a young teenager and wed her August 4, 1953. They had four beautiful children, Douglas, Stanley, Donna, and Kevin whom they loved endlessly. JW was also a strong man of faith that prioritized the Lord.  He lived his life bringing laughter and joy to his family and friends. His quick wit will be deeply missed, but his humor will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He worked for the City of Delavan in the water department.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Donna, son Kevin, son Stanley, grandson Daniel, and wife Phyllis.

JW leaves behind his son, Douglas (Gayle) Williamson; nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

 JW was known and loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A private celebration of life will be performed at a later date. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
