Jack McNutt Obituary

Jack Allen McNutt, 86, formerly of Delavan, passed away Monday, March14, 2022 in Harlingen, TX. 

He was born May 24, 1935 in Fort Collins, Colorado and enlisted in the Army as a young man. He served 9 years in the Army, followed by 14 years in the Army National Guard, while also growing his career with Caterpillar. He retired in 1996, which allowed him to pursue his passions of golf, dancing, travel, and most importantly, spending time with his loving family. 

Jack will be remembered as a strong family man. He was a dedicated husband with an outgoing personality, a vibrant sense of humor, and was a pillar of both the Illinois and Texas communities he lived in. Jack was also very active in the American Legion, working up his way to Third Division Commander. 

Jack is survived, and already missed dearly, by his wife Linda, his son Robert “Bob”, his grandchildren Ryan, Aaron and Jacy, and his great grandchildren Remi and Oden. 

His funeral will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home,  121 West Third Street, Delavan, IL 61734.  Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.  Entombment will be in Prairie Rest Mausoleum in Delavan. An additional service will be held in Harlingen Texas at Paradise Park in the recreation hall on Wednesday March 30 at 2:00 pm. 

If desired, donations in Jack’s memory can be made to the Delavan American Legion Post 382, 118 E. 3rd St, Delavan, IL 61734.
