Jackie L. Rush Sr., 86, of Washington, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at OSF Richards Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
He was born April 12, 1938, in Mackinaw to Forrest and Helen Kissinger Rush. He married Betty Lee on March 3, 1959, in Iowa City and she passed away August 30, 1999.
Surviving is one son, Jack Rush, Jr; one daughter, Terri (Louie) Holliger; four grandchildren, Rachel Huskins, Lydia (Travis) Hasten, Joe Rush, and Sarah Rush-Robbins; one sister, Patricia Mercer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Packey Rush; and one sister, Alta Black.
Jackie attended Dee-Mack High School and then served in the United States Air Force.
He worked at Caterpillar Inc.
Jack enjoyed spending time with his partner; Sandee Enlow, fishing, good food, a gospel concert, the Cardinal’s baseball team, and talking about Jesus to anyone that would listen. He loved the Lord. He also enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jack loved his family well, or as he would say “Love you Biggie Bunches”. He will be greatly missed.
A visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday at Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Mackinaw. A private graveside service will be held Thursday, February 27, 2025 in Mackinaw Township Cemetery.
