Janet Craddick

Janet Marie Craddick, long time resident of Tremont IL, left this world for what comes next on March 20, 2021, in Dallas TX. 

She was born to John L Diamond and Chloe Kanady Diamond on July 20, 1939 in Highland IL.  She graduated from Peoria High School in 1957 and attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins.  She married Gary R Cooper but was widowed within months.  She later wed Fred L Craddick of Tremont, and they were married until his death in 2007. 

Four children survive, Gari Phillips, Richardson TX, Jeri (Kim) Rigg, Tremont IL, Shari Stout, Dallas TX, Scott Craddick;  she is also survived by five grandchildren and four (and a half) great-grandchildren;  her brother, Jerry (Judy) Diamond, Dallas Tx/Indian Wells CA; and sister, Marcia Diamond, Madison WI, miss her presence, as well. 

Jan and Fred were instrumental in establishing Tremont Rescue 702 and providing emergency medical services in the rural Tazewell County area.  A lifelong sports fan, Jan cheered for the St Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, and the University of Illinois.   She had a fine sense of humor and enjoyed reading, spending time with family, and hanging out with friends in the Tremont area, where she was especially fond of regular gatherings of her “swimming ladies” at a good friend’s pool.  Please remember the happiest of your connections with her and share with family if so inclined.
