In the 5th grade, the family moved to Minier, IL, and there she met Shirild (Dick) Riddle, and they married on September 2, 1956.  They had two sons Richard “Rick” (Lisa) and Michael “Mike” and granddaughter, Rachel Riddle.

She was an active member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ and started MEMO meals (Monday Evening Meals Out) in 1993 which continues to this day.  Janis was a charter member of the Minier Historical Society, serving as Treasurer.

She loved to crochet, quilt, write poems, work crossword puzzles, and dancing with her favorite partner, Dick.  In their younger years, she and Dick traveled throughout the US and abroad.  She was an avid Cubs fan.  She was always there whenever help was needed. She loved her family and lived a full and rewarding life.  She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
