John M. Medlin, 65, of Normal, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
He was born March 18, 1958 in Hopedale to William B. and Wilma M. Frick Medlin. He married Nancy Aldridge on March 4, 2000 in Decatur, and she survives.
Also surviving are his two children, Matthew (Bethany) Medlin of Dunlap and Joshua (Nicole) Medlin of Valrico, FL; one grandson, Joshua Scott Medlin; Laura Medlin, the mother of his children, of Pekin; three sisters, Carol (Richard) Thomas of Goodfield, Linda (Mark) Reader of Pekin, and Rhonda (Greg) Zook of East Peoria; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Carol Aldridge of Maroa; and his beloved buddy, Waino Willie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Billy; one infant sister, Barbara; stepfather, Jerry Mammen; and his father-in-law, Bennie Aldridge.
John was an electrician for Alvey in St. Louis for 13 years and most recently was an electrician at Bridgestone in Normal for 20 years.
He was a member of Vale Community Church in Bloomington and multiple other religious outreach groups.
He was a die-hard St. Louis Cardinal fan, loved watching Christmas movies, and spending time with his family.
His funeral will be at 11:00 am Monday, November 13, 2023 at Vale Community Church in Bloomington. Pastor Cory Willoughby will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Cremation will be accorded following the service with burial at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
