John Wilson Obituary

John R. Wilson, 78, of Minier, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

He was born May 17, 1944 in Minier to Bernard C. and Marylon R. Brooks Wilson.

Surviving are two sisters, Mary K. Cox of Minier and Barb (Dee) Schilpp of Hopedale.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronald B. Wilson and Alan R. Wilson; and one niece, Megan K. Cox.

John delivered the Pekin Times Newspaper in Minier for 40 years.

He enjoyed riding in semi-trucks with his uncle Pete, country music, and was an avid baseball fan, where he enjoyed watching the Cubs and Cardinals play. He also was grand Marshall of the Minier Christmas Parade.

A private family graveside service will be at Minier Cemetery at a later date. Haensel-Oswald Funeral Home in Minier is handling the arrangements.

Memorials may be made to St. John’s United Church of Christ in Minier.
