Obituary
Joy C. Heaton, 71, of Delavan, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023 in East Peoria.
She was born May 15, 1951 in Pekin to William and Velma Lichtenberger Heaton.
Surviving are three step-daughters and step-grandchildren; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dan Heaton; and one sister, Dawn McConnell.
Joy worked at Murphy’s, Bard Optical, Waste Management, Pella Windows, and Walmart.
She was a member of Job’s Daughters International, Order of Eastern Star, Cro Knits, and the Delavan United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed the Chicago Cubs, word puzzles, cross stitch, sewing, and angels and pansies.
A memorial service will be at 6:00 pm Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at the Delavan United Methodist Church. Pastor Charles Graul will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 5:45 pm Tuesday along with the formation of the Living Cross. A private family graveside will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan is handling the arrangements.
