Joyce E. Thrasher, 81, of Minier, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at her home.
She was born August 29, 1942 in Peoria to Lawrence R. and Alice Lillian Rohrs Fulks. She married H.M. Mann in June 1963. She later married James L. Thrasher on August 1, 1987 in Normal, and he passed away July 26, 2016. H.M. Mann passed away in 2008.
Surviving are her children, Cindy Mann of Bloomington, Wendy (Mike) Kuster of Mt. Zion, James (Terri) Thrasher Jr. of TX, Robert “Bob” (Jeannie) Thrasher of Pekin, and Regina (Michael) Johnston of TX; nine grandchildren, Addison, Jessica, Emily, Brooke, Bailey, Becca, Bria, Sydney, and Connor; three great grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Fulks of Rushville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Joyce was raised on a farm and always considered herself a farm girl. She was a member of the Schuyler County FFA, where she showed cattle.
She graduated from Rushville High School in 1960 and worked at Country Financial Inc. in Bloomington for 25 years.
She enjoyed ceramics and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of Living Hope Community Church in Hopedale, where her funeral will be at 10:30 am Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Pastor Roger Springer will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont is handling the arrangements.
