Joyce "Annette" Hinman Obituary

Joyce Annette “Annette” Hinman, 64, of Rincon, Georgia, formerly of Tremont, Illinois, entered peacefully into the arms of Jesus on May 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with colon cancer, surrounded by the love of her family.

Annette was born on April 30, 1962, in Pekin, Illinois, to James Willard and Wilma Jean Hudson. She married the love of her life, Richard Michael Hinman, after knowing him for just three months and ten days. Proof that sometimes you really do know when you know. Together they built a beautiful life centered around God, family, laughter, and unconditional love.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard Michael Hinman; her mother-in-law, Jane Hinman; her daughters, Jennifer Hinman and fiancé Ryan Luna, and Nicole Briney and husband John Briney; her beloved grandchildren, Trace Hitchins, Noelle Briney, and Jemma Briney; and future step-granddaughter, Gracie Luna. She is also survived by her siblings, Carolyn Tomsha, Kathy Bassett, Harold (Sandy) Hudson, Gary Hudson, and Kenneth (Kelly) Hudson, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma Jean and James Hudson, and her father-in-law, Richard Hinman.

Annette dedicated more than 33 years of service to Kroger, beginning her career in July 1985 before retiring in October 2018. She was hardworking, loyal, and never met a stranger for long.

She loved all things pink, relaxing in her pool, and cheering on her favorite NASCAR drivers either from her living room, her pool, or at the track itself. She adored her Camaro SS convertible, loved listening to Southern gospel and country music, and carried a warmth that made people feel instantly welcome. Above all else, Annette loved her family fiercely. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Annette was a longtime member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Groveland, Illinois, before moving to Georgia in 2006.

Her family will remember her for her loving heart, her strength, her sense of fun, and the way she made every holiday, gathering, and ordinary day feel special. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring smiles, laughter, and comfort to all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at Centerpoint Community Church 2160 SR-21 S, Springfield, GA on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 5pm. Then a short service will take place at 7pm.

An additional celebration of life will be held at the Tremont Community Center 216 S. Sampson St., Tremont, IL on Sunday, July 5, 2026 12pm-4pm.
